Revenue management jobs involve coordinating the efforts of income finances related to resorts. Specializing in accounting work, they are able to analyze consumer spending and develop methods to gain profits for specific periods. Individuals with revenue manager jobs are familiar with frequently completing market research and compiling data to provide financial support. Working standard 40 hour work weeks, these professionals work in offices with minimal travel and overtime shifts. Their duties and responsibilities can also vary by the establishment and its size.

The minimum educational and training requirement for a revenue manager job is at least a bachelor's degree in a related field, with associate degrees being the second most common educational level of revenue managers. Federal Government positions tend to require a bachelor's degree and related experience to be considered but for most entry level positions a bachelors is sufficient. Some specialized duties may also lead to addition on the job training.

In 2006, there were nearly 80,000 revenue management workers with a large portion of professionals employed with the Federal government and a smaller percentage working at the State and local levels. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is a 2 percent employment increase expected during the 2006 to 2016 decade. Changes in government policy regarding tax enforcement will create a slight demand for workers as the Federal Government attempts to increase efforts to enforce taxes. Job prospects for revenue management careers are expected to be excellent as many current professionals will be exiting the work force within the next decade as well as the additional openings will be created from workers that change careers.
